A delegation from the Division of Zakat, University of Technology Mara, Malaysia visited the Islamic Foundation

A delegation from the Division of Zakat, Alm and Waqf (ZAWAF), University of Technology Mara (UiTM), Malaysia, led by its Direcvtor, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Ashrof Zaki Bin Yaakob, visited the Islamic Foundation and Markfield Institute of Higher Education. They were accompanied by Associate Professor Dr Azei Bhari, Deputy Dean (Student Affairs), Mr. Muhamad Faisol Alwi, Mr. Mohd Izwan Ruslan, Head of Collection and Uni. SEnior leaders from the Leicester Muslim community, Dr. Abdul Karim Gheewala and Mr. Salim Loirgat also joined them. They discussed the prospects and models for impolementing Waqf model for teh sustainability of community institutions, particularly, higher education.

A charity established in UK in 1973, dedicated to research, publishing, education, community support and inter-faith dialogue. Set amidst almost 10 Acres in Markfield, it provides a tranquil environment for studying. The site houses a Masjid, an extensive library, a residential conference centre and a bookshop.
