Syed Faiyazuddin Ahmad joined the islamic foundation as public relations officer in 1984. He played a pioneering role in introducing the activities of the foundation at home and abroad as well as in the interfaith groups. He had to take premature retirement due to ill-health but he remained associated with the work of the foundation as a trustee until his death. he was actively engaged in the activities of the uKim in leicester and produced a newsletter Minaret for about 8 years. Br. Faiyaz was keenly interested in interfaith dialogue and was one the founders of leicester council of faiths and was its president for many years. in recognition of his selfless efforts he was made a life-member of the council. He was a regular contributer to the muslim world Book review. his friends and admirers included people of all faiths. Br. faiyaz died after a long illness on 15th July/17th ramadan.
